Introducing ShareChat: Instant File Sharing Over Wi-Fi
ShareChat is the simplest way to move files and messages between devices on the same Wi-Fi network. No sign-up, no cloud upload, no cables — just open the app on both devices and you're ready to go.
The Problem It Solves
Sending a file from your laptop to your phone (or to a colleague sitting next to you) is surprisingly annoying. AirDrop only works between Apple devices. Bluetooth is slow. Email feels absurd for a 50 MB video. Cloud services require accounts and eat your storage quota.
ShareChat sidesteps all of that. Because it works over your local network, transfers are fast — often saturating your Wi-Fi connection — and nothing ever touches the internet.
How It Works
ShareChat uses peer-to-peer WebRTC connections brokered by a small signalling service on hspingal.com (built on Cloudflare Workers). When you open the app, a unique session code and QR code are generated. The receiving device scans the QR code or enters the code manually, a direct connection is established, and the transfer begins — entirely within your local network.
- Files — drag and drop any file type, any size your network can handle
- Text & links — paste a URL or a block of text and it appears instantly on the other device
- Multi-device — share to multiple recipients simultaneously from one session
Privacy First
Because transfers are peer-to-peer and local, your files never leave your network. There is no server storing your data, no account tracking your usage, and no file size limit imposed by a cloud backend. What you send stays between you and the recipient.
Try It Now
ShareChat runs entirely in the browser — no installation, no extension. Open it on both devices, scan the QR code, and start sharing.
