Introducing Local IP Finder: Know Your Network at a Glance

Local IP Finder is a browser-based network inspector that tells you everything about your current connection and device in one place — without installing anything or running a terminal command.

What It Shows

Open the page and within a couple of seconds you'll see your local (LAN) IP address, your public IP, your ISP name, an approximate location (city and country), connection type, browser and OS details, screen resolution, language, and timezone. Everything is laid out in a clean two-panel grid with copy buttons next to the values you're most likely to need.

Local IP via WebRTC

Getting your LAN IP from a browser is non-trivial — HTTP requests only see the public-facing side of your network. Local IP Finder uses a well-known WebRTC ICE candidate trick: creating a data channel causes the browser to enumerate local network interfaces as part of the connection negotiation, and the LAN IP shows up in the candidate strings. The RTCPeerConnection is closed immediately after the IP is extracted, and no actual peer-to-peer connection is ever established.

Public IP and ISP

A single request to /api/ip on hspingal.com returns your public IP, ISP (organisation name), and approximate location in one call. A small Cloudflare Worker builds the answer from details Cloudflare already has about your connection, so the tool makes no outbound request to any other service for network data.

Connection Type

If your browser supports the Network Information API (navigator.connection), the tool reads the effective connection type (4G, WiFi, etc.) and the underlying connection type if available. This API has limited browser support currently, so it may show "—" on some browsers.

Who Is It For?

This tool is useful for developers debugging local network issues, for users who need their LAN IP to configure a router or set up a local server, for IT support staff doing quick triage, and for anyone curious about what information their browser exposes about them. It's also a companion to ShareChat — if you're setting up a LAN share, this tells you which IP to connect to.

Privacy

Local IP detection uses only browser APIs — no data leaves your browser for that step. Your public IP, network and approximate location come from a tiny endpoint on hspingal.com itself, which simply hands back what Cloudflare already sees about your connection — no third-party service is involved. HSPingal does not store any of the information displayed.
