The Problem With Existing QR Tools
Most QR code generators on the web are either paywalled (to remove watermarks), ad-heavy, or require you to create an account just to download a PNG. For something as simple as a QR code — a pattern that a phone camera can read — that overhead is unnecessary. Our tool skips all of it.
What You Can Do
Type or paste any text into the input field and the QR code generates live as you type. You can encode a URL, plain text, a phone number, an email address, a Wi-Fi config string, or anything else that fits in a QR code. The tool handles the encoding automatically.
Customisation
You can set the output size (128 px, 256 px, or 512 px), choose a foreground colour, and choose a background colour. This makes it easy to brand QR codes to match a design — a dark code on a brand-coloured background, for instance. Error correction is set to the highest level (H) by default, so the code stays scannable even if part of it is obscured.
Download
Once generated, click Download PNG to save the QR code as a lossless PNG. The file is named after the content you encoded (truncated to 30 characters), so your downloads folder stays organised.
How It Works
The tool uses the open-source QRCode.js library, which renders the code to an HTML Canvas element entirely in-browser. No data is sent to any server at any point. The download is a direct canvas-to-PNG export via the Canvas API's toDataURL() method.
